sensory play September 29, 2008

I stumbled across and took this simple Colour Test this morning. I spend most of my day staring at a computer screen and often worry about how it is affecting my vision. I wouldn’t mind if it deteriorated down to a level that would warrant a light prescription as I like them aesthetically.
Three weeks ago, I developed a small, annoying twitch in my right eye which fortunately wasn’t noticeable to anyone but me. This went away after a week’s vacation at parent’s cottage Muskoka where I had another senses scare when my ears wouldn’t properly clear after a marathon swim. For a few hours, everything sounded muffled as if it was coming through of a long tunnel. It gave me a new appreciation of my full range of hearing, and also concern about what I’ve exposed my ears to after years of going to loud music events.
Anyways, I’d like this test for its engaging simplicity, age-related stats, and drag-n-drop fun factor. After burning my eyes on that test, I think I’m that much closer to a pair, and am starting to think about how I can bring more of a sensory experience into my web work.
